A Rare Find Finally Getting Real Help for My Chronic Migraines As a former nurse, I’ve always been cautious, even skeptical, when it comes to choosing doctors. I’ve struggled with chronic migraines for years and had already seen two different neurologists, neither of whom were able to help. One, I lost interest quickly when medications didn’t work after 6 mths. The other assumed my migraines were muscular and sent me to physical therapy, which offered no relief at all. So, I began the search again, this time determined to find someone truly knowledgeable and willing to listen. That’s when I found the Migraine & Headache Center, run by Dr. Nazario. To my surprise, she called me personally. We had a thorough conversation, during which I asked a lot of questions, and she patiently answered every single one. That alone impressed me. The following week, I had my first appointment, a full 90 minutes she spent with me, where we went through my entire history and all the medications that had failed. Dr. Nazario took the time to explain what she believed was happening in my case and laid out a treatment plan that made sense to me. Even better, she had backup options ready if the first approach didn’t work that also made sense. She is brilliant, deeply experienced, and refreshingly compassionate the kind of specialist who actually listens and involves you in your care. That’s rare these days. I drove over 90 minutes to see her, and it was absolutely worth it. (She was out of network for me, but absolutely worth it!) If you're suffering from chronic migraines or headaches and haven’t found the right fit yet, I highly recommend seeing Dr. Nazario. She is a rare find, and for people like me who’ve been searching too long for answers, she might be the one you’ve been hoping for.

Dr Bernadette was an exceptional professional. As a gay man I often experience bigotry from doctors in Florida. So much so that I test my doctors on first meeting and her response was that of a consummate professional. She gave me nearly two hours to discuss my medical issues and was extremely through and pleasant during our entire initial visit. She set expectations which are not what I was hoping for (I want to never deal with migraines ever again) and she told me together we will go through this and get me back to normal function. As a gay man and a human I appreciate she didn’t make me and my husband feel unwelcome or that we would receive substandard care to any of her patients. She offers virtual and in person visits and I am hopeful together with her treatment plan I can hopefully have a better life.

Dr Nazario is very knowledgeable and empathetic. I have been dealing with horrible head and neck pain for 6 months and have seen many specialists, without any relief. Within a few days of seeing Dr. Nazario, she prescribed a proper medication which reduced the pain tremendously, made referrals to functional neurological services for nerve block and for physical therapy. I am extremely happy and impressed with Dr Nazario, she did not throw pills at me, she wanted to help solve my Spinal problem.

Dr Nazario is very knowledgeable on head pain and pharmacology. She listens carefully and thoroughly examines the MRI’S, to determine the exact cause of head pain and then she physically examines and determines what the condition is and the best treatment course to correct it. Dr. Nazaro took her time with me, listened to all my issues and really took her time setting up a plan to get me on a better path and quality of life. I’ve struggled with daily headaches for almost 30 years. The diagnosis ranged from chronic migraines to tension headaches but I started self medicating with over the counter meds, taking up to 4 goody powders a day for the last 4 years and I created a massive rebound headache that would never go away. I went in with desperation to get this cycle broken and on the correct meds and she assured me she will help me! Might be some trial and error but I’m on day 5 of detoxing from the otc meds and am already feeling a little better with the breakthrough therapy to help with that. I can tell she is the person for me and is going to get me where I need to be to feel good again. She’s very personable and was so easy to talk with. And she listened! She’s an incredible doctor, if you struggle with headaches or migraines call her!!!
